Their portions are very large. No one leaves hungry. Most have leftovers to take home.
Great tasting plentiful food. Good service
The staff was very patient and friendly. The restaurant was very popular. There were many items on the menu to choose from. During the time we waited (15 minutes) for our friends to get there, so many people came in and out who were obviously regulars there. The staff knew them by name and they knew the staff by name. My friend who recommended this place told me she has been eating in this restaurant for 20 years...But for me, the food was less than impressive. It looked good but it was drowning in sauce. The soup was mediocre. The chow mein was as well. My husband did not like the pot stickers but my friends were happy with their meals. I won’t be back again but one of my friends will.
This place is extremely delicious. For now on this is where I'm coming to get any type of rice wings and especially the lobster. We had two giant lobsters cut in when I believe was egg drop sauce soup or something it was amazing and you can tell it was like a little fried and then sauteed in this amazing source the rice is completely delicious it's nice. Chunks of meat the shrimp the pork the chicken all of the rice is amazing I haven't had most of their dishes but I will continue to come here to taste some more. Thanks to staff My ratings are⏬Atmosphere: 10 cozyCustomer service: 10 Clean: 10 Taste: 10
Great food and service
The food was good but they added the tip of 18% without asking. Usually if there is a table more than 5 people they have the right to do so but we were only two and yet they added the tip of their choice without asking.
I found the potstiklers to be doughy and tough. They were steamed not fried. The blizzard thing was when i mentioned the potstiklers were tough the manager said that is normal. Well come on do something about it or don't sell it! The Phoenix and dragon was good with lots of shrimp. The garlic shrimp was spicy and tasty.
Always good eats! I am in love with the Malaysian sauce!
Delicious foods and not so great customer service. Get the stir fried sweet and salty Lobster (the dried , without sauce one) because it is the best!
Great place! Living in the North Fulton suburbs, this is our go to place for nearby Chinese food. Nothing beats Won Ton soup on a cold day. I've been going here 21 years and the amazing thing is that some of the staff hasn't aged at all.
This is authentic Chinese food at its finest, with all the right flavors throughout their comprehensive menu prepared fast and fresh at a very affordable price. Despite being busy, we were seated quickly, our order was taken as soon as we were ready, and we were even able to order a number of our favorites that were not included on the menu - what a pleasant and unexpected surprise! This was my first visit, but I'll be taking my friends and family back soon and often.
Cheap ($8) lunch, soup, huge plate and delicious 😋
My family and I have been coming here for years. Amazing food. We always order a feast when we go so we can try everything. The salt and pepper squid is the best thing on the menu 👌🏼 The staff is always very attentive and speedy with the food and drinks. I always recommend this place to everyone.
Canton Cooks has always been a staple for Cantonese Style food in my life for as long I could remember! Been eating from this restaurant for 20 years and the flavor is always there. Food is awesome!
Food was good but they added 18% tip without asking us and we were only 3 people. I will not come here again .
They should probably pay better to their employees instead of trying to get extra money from customers by adding 18% tip without pre authorization. The lady at the counter was rude and unruly when we wanted a clarification about this. We were 3 people in total.
We went for a late dinner on a Sunday but this place was busy. Food was ok a little oily to my taste but the service is horrible the servers don’t even smile at you for once and have that weird face all the time.. when you are looking eye to eye while ordering they are like we are here not to please you but just to bring you your food!
I love this little Chinese restaurant has good food good atmosphere and excellent service.
Excellent place to get huge portions of food. Service was great as well.
Pan fried spicy shrimp is amazing!
Best & authentic Chinese food I've ever had!! They aleays have all of my favorites and great hours!
To be frank, if you are looking for authentic Chinese food I don't think this might be the place you want to come. There are plenty of dishes to choose from the menu. I ordered some of the most traditional and common dishes. Unfortunately, they just don't taste as delicious as I thought. There are even more worse than the other restaurants. The dishes here are greasy but now that salty. The service is moderate, The dining environment is normal. It's still a good place for family reunion or friends gathering.
Friday night family dinner was excellent! We had 7 people and it was great for sharing. Everything was awesome! Fresh seafood. Great flavors! We had pan fried sole and sea bass, seafood chow mein, clams in black bean sauce, salt and pepper calamari, snow peas, chicken wings, crab ragoon and dragon soup. Everything was delicious!! It was a ton of food and great for sharing. Friendly service. Very helpful and happy to explain what things were. Even let us order off menu. I will definitely be back! They are open later too.
We've been coming here for 15 years and the service and food has always been consitanly great! We always feel welcomed and have grew a friendship with one of the waiters who is exceptionally kind. I highly recommend the dragon soup, fried shrimp, and the lobster! Great place!
I go to this location regularly and it it very good. The servers are always nice and helpful. The egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had. Yummmmmmmm can’t wait to go back.
I just ate there 3 hours ago and already have food poisoning. For your best interest save your money and I promise your body will thank you....No stars if I could. Just trying to save someone from making the same mistake as me.
Coming home on Sunday night after a Falcons game, we found ourselves in Sandy Springs, tired and hungry and wanting to try someplace new....Canton Cook II at the corner of Abernathy and Roswell Road was it. As we parked, at least 8 parties - families and couples came and went though the front door. Good sign! Big restaurant, Huge menu. Generous portions. Lots of regulars eating here who went and picked up their own take out containers as if they were at home! We got our comfort food favorites - hot and sour soup, garlic chicken for me and shrimp fried rice for my friend...All excellent. Attentive service in spite of the fact the restaurant was full and busy. It as ou first time, but won't be
This is my familys favorite spot to eat and enjoy a good conversation while we pass plates of tasty food around
This place is totally legit and I'm just so elated that it's only literally two minutes away from home, now we don't have to drive all the way to BuHi for our Chinese food fix. While it's a bummer that they don't have dimsum, their ala carte menu more than makes up for it. To properly gauge them we ordered our usual staples: house crispy noodles, house fried rice, peking pork chops and steamed chicken with sausage and mushrooms.
My wife and I have been coming here for 20 years. We used to come in with our first born in a car seat. Now she comes in as a sixteen year old. They've seen her grow up lol. Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Atlanta area. Food is quick and great! Highly recommended.
Amazing Chinese food. Classic and an OG
Wonderful, authentic Cantonese style cuisine. You'll love the food!
Some of the food is really good and some is really super average. The spicier items tend to be better. I cannot say enough about how filthy the bathrooms are, however. The chicken lo mein and almond chicken, pictured, is tasteless. Do not order. There are several way better options on the menu. I would normally never order this type of food, but was required to, based on my company.
I go to Canton Cooks because I can get all the Chinese vegetables instead of American vegetables for a great price stir fried in light oil with ginger garlic sauce. Everything there is wonderful and the owner Kathy is a great host. I especially love the fried calamari with jalapenos. They really have spoiled me for any other Chinese restaurant in town! Love love love this place!
I ordered takeout because I'm not ready to sit in a restaurant with everybody else during Covid-19 and the food was still just as tasty and piping hot as usual! I never order straight from the menu, always ask for my order with special instructions and they get it right every time. I drive from the other side of Atlanta because this place is consistent and the food is on point, especially the pork steamed dumplings, house fried rice, and the spicy garlic chicken. I hope they never close LOL.
Tasty, dependable, and reasonable. If you're adventurous, ask if they still have the Chinese menu. (Like many Chinese restaurants, there's a western menu and a Chinese menu.). Failing that, ask if they have recommendations not on the menu.
What can I say, the pics states it all!! So much food, great customer service, reminds me of the Canton restaurant back home in Miami, loved the food
30 years. Never changes. Authentic and Americanized dishes. When I told my father in law this was where we we eating and this was where industry Chinese owners ate after work, he scoffed. When the owner of the only place he eats at in Snellville said hi to him from his table when we got seated was an "I told you so" on another level.
One of my favorite places to grab some food. very good location, neat, and very good customer service. 5 stars!
Excellent fresh, well prepared authentic Chinese food. Try the green beans!
Best wings and fried rice!
Every entry is enough for 2 people
Hands-down the most consistent and reliable Chinese restaurant in the Atlanta area. I've been cooking here for over 10 years and I've never once had a bad experience. The General Tso's chicken is especially notable since the chicken is always fresh and crunchy despite being well covered in sauce. The chicken wings are also surprisingly delicious and make a great side with the lunch dishes. Dinner is more family-style with large shareable plates. I also recommend checking out the seafood options as well as the salt & pepper pork.
I freaking love, love, love this place! I have been coming here with my family since I was eight years old. No one serves better shrimp fried rice than them! I always get quality service when I eat here and the portions are large. The waiting time is minimal and the food is delicious. I wouldn't consider this to be a fancy place. I also get the fried shrimp (to die for). The servers are always great and they always make sure to help when needed.
As a family we have been going here for years. This was my dad's favorite place for Chinese food in Sandy springs Ga.
Good food and service every time I go!!
Canton Cooks was pretty nice, nice staff, and good Chinese cuisine with a lot of choices. I had the Kung Pao Chicken, which had a light taste, spicy, and not loaded with salt. Overall, good prices, good food. I would visit again, check it out for some nice Chinese cuisine. The iced tea was good as well.
Good food. Have had there chicken and beef fried rice countless time lol so yeah 😝😝
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Atlanta. The food is always hot, and flavorful. And it is always consistent.
I’m impressed that this old restaurant was able to survive without having to change themselves in some way. I’ve watched so many similar restaurants close down, move to Gwinnett, or Americanize their menus. I’m giving 5 stars for their resilience alone. So many Chinese restaurants along Burford HWY in Doraville have moved to Gwinnett county (which where most of the Asians are). In contrast, the restaurants that chose to remain either became very run down (like Royal China and Canton House). Other restaurants chose to Americanize their menus (House of Lu in Marietta) to be like Panda Express to cater to America customers (since the Chinese customers moved to Gwinnett). What’s even more impressive is that they have decent influx of customers. In my last visit to Royal China before they moved to Gwinnett county (around June 2019), the place had became a ghost town. It was so run down with barely any customers even though the menu was still top quality.
